Goals and Objectives:
Upon the completion of this course, the students will be able to do the following using the Spanish language:
                 
                  1.    
Greet formally and informally

2.     Converse on nationality and origin

3.      Identify and discuss things found at school, the workplace, home, train stations,
airports, on the athletic field, at restaurants, and in nature

4.      Converse as to interests and hobbies that are done throughout the year

Class Rules:
  •   Offer your opinions as often as you like.
  •   Never be afraid to ask questions and push the subject matter.
  •   Be inside the classroom before the bell rings. Excuses must be written by a staff
  •   member of this institution.
  •   When you enter the class you should start the board work immediately.
  •   Wait for the last person to stop talking before speaking.
  •   Always address people respectfully in this classroom.
  •   You don’t need to ask to visit the restroom.
  •   Please wait until the last person visiting the bathroom has returned.
 
Late Work:
If your work is late, it will automatically receive a 50% deduction. Late work can only be received a week after the due date or a 0% will be noted for the assignment.
 
Work Submission:
When you turn in your work, it must be a hard copy. Unless otherwise stated, I expect your work to be in paper form.
 
Cell Phones:
Cell phones must be turned off when you are in my class. No exceptions.
 
Listening Devices:
No MP3 players, personal CD players, walkmans, radios, or cell phones are allowed in the ad building.
 
Plagiarism:
It is both illegal and dishonest to submit the work of another as your own. The Sunnydale Adventist Academy Plagiarism Policy stands by this principle. Any student found to commit plagiarism will receive a failing grade for the assignment. Furthermore, the administration will be made aware of the dishonest behavior, which could warrant serious discipline and even the possibility of suspension or expulsion.

Syllabus Subject to Revision:
Some items in the syllabus are subject to change throughout the course of the semester in an effort to better meet the student needs. Students will be informed if any changes are made.
 
Grading:
The grading system in all of my classes is point-based. This means that every assignment is worth so many points. Tests are worth 100 points a piece. Quizzes and homework are worth anywhere from 5-30 points a piece. Bonus points will also be offered in games and contests held in class throughout the year.
